ABOUT RICHARD KEEN III:
Originally from Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, Keen moved to Indiana at the age of four where he attended art programs within the local public schools. During high school, he began focusing on visual art.
Keen earned a Visual Art Degree with a focus on graphic design from Southwestern Michigan College in Dowagiac, MI and worked in advertising for a short time before going on to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Millikin University in Decatur, IL. After earning a Master of Arts from S.U.N.Y. Albany in 1999, he settled into his adopted home state of Maine. Having taught art privately and within public schools, Keen now maintains an active studio practice both at the historic Ft. Andross Mill in downtown Brunswick as well as at home on his small farm in Dresden. He subsidizes his life as an artist by working as a diver and boat mooring provider.
His work appears in public and private collections internationally and he has been awarded grants from various New England institutions including the Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation, Sheffield, MA and Rhode Island Sea Grant, Narragansett, RI, and the Maine Arts Commission, Augusta, ME. Keen’s recent solo shows were at the Midwest Museum of American Art, Elkhart, IN, the Zillman Art Museum, Bangor, ME, Elizabeth Moss Galleries in Portland, ME, and the Garage Art Center in Queens, NY. Keen has exhibited in group shows throughout the United States with an upcoming three person show at Anita Rogers Gallery in New York, NY. His work was included in the United States "Art in Embassies Program” and he has created multiple public art murals in Maine. Keen has been reviewed in Art New England, Portland Press Herald, Maine Home and Design, Dispatch Magazine, Fresh Paint Magazine, and Studio Visit Magazine.
ABOUT ROBERT SZOT:
Szot (b. 1976) has exhibited his work in many galleries across the United States from New York to Los Angeles and Texas. Szot's paintings have been exhibited in the Saatchi Gallery in London and, in 2014, the artist was invited to participate in the Whitney Museum Art Party. His work is in public collections, including Credit Suisse, and numerous private collections, such as Beth DeWoody and the Bass Family. The artist currently lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.
ABOUT TOMAS WATSON:
Tomas Watson (b.1971) is a British artist who has lived and worked in Greece since 1994. He studied at the Slade School of Art in London. In 1998, he won the BP Portrait Award and was subsequently commissioned by the National Portrait Gallery to paint the author John Fowles. This portrait is in their permanent collection. He regularly participates in international art fairs and solo exhibitions in Italy, the UK, Greece, and beyond; he recently founded and teaches the Sigri Arts Retreat, an educational arts program on the island of Lesvos in Greece.
