JOSHUA EPOCH NOCTURNA 1 (2021)
Composed of numerous 6-20 second animated stills, each derived from the multiple-image photographic panoramas. I portray fast-moving climatic events against the stationary Joshua Trees. I using animations that serve to accentuate static photographs. Compressing time and accelerating temporal shifts, as perhaps we are all feeling in our lives. At times we are thrust into the abstract and then the surreal. I aim to lead us on a journey from visual apprehension to awe coalescing as we experience the sublime.
EPOCH PIER 1 (2022)
Examining fast-moving climatic events against the Vorticist, Santa Monica Pier, as it expands into the Pacific Ocean. Whilst the machine age hurtles towards the Singularity, time is compressed and accelerated. Synthesis and decomposition are interchange as we experience the sublime.
