Grant Phillips (2000-2023) was born in New York City and grew up in Greenwich Village. He was accepted to the art program at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art & Performing Arts. He later attended Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, where he was pursuing a degree in Fine Art. Grant was a multi-disciplinary artist whose passions included painting and tattooing. The Grant Phillips Memorial Scholarship has been established at Pratt to ensure that his legacy of supporting and encouraging other artists lives on.
The Phillips family is very grateful to Anita Rogers and the Anita Rogers Gallery for posthumously exhibiting Grant’s work. It was one of his dreams to have his paintings shown in a gallery, and he would have been incredibly honored.
